A-Kill

A-Kill is a graffiti writer and street artist based out of Chennai, India who has collaborated with local and international artists alike to create a body of work including large-scale murals and graffiti pieces. Having worked with many international brands, A-Kill is also an accomplished commercial artist and has been an invited artist at the Dubai Street Night Festival in 2014.

Made in an illustrative and figurative approach, A-kill’s work is inspired by visuals offered by the streets and everyday life. chiefly working with the technique of portraiture, He uses street photography to capture and study his subjects before making portraits, rendering his pieces with realist details in a black and white colour tone.

 

Kannagi Art District

A-Kill’s photo realism emerged at its best of capabilities in Chennai’s biggest urban slum, Kannagi Nagar. Taking inspiration from the streets that are always filled with kids, the artists painted an image of two sisters smiling together; beaming with positivity and affection.

 

Pop India - Graffiti Workshop

As a part of St+art’s urban and pop culture explorative exhibition, Pop India, A-kill led a Graffiti workshop and introduced participants to street art techniques of stencilling and spray painting to create a collaborative artwork which was on view outside Palladium Mall

Contributing to St+art’s art district, A-kill created a mural paying an ode to the essence of Goa, one that is constantly being redefined, and where an archetypal tourist seems to belong as much as its native inhabitants.
