Kedia House

In May 2018, we collaborated with artist Munir to work on the walls of Kedia household, located in New Delhi’s posh Maharani Bagh area. Owned by Rachna Kedia, the house was featured in the Thames & Hudson Book in London under the category of ‘best houses in India’. Wanting to experiment with the most contemporary expression of art, Ms. Kedia commissioned XXL to create artworks on the walls that framed her home.

On an exposed concrete wall, Munir created a piece that was inspired by the contemporary aesthetic of the house. It sought to evoke a sense tropical relief and treasure.

In the second piece painted by artist duo Do & Khatra, in December 2018, mother nature stands nested in a surreal landscape - almost frozen, mulling over the human act of inviting calamities upon ourselves and endangering the environment. The flower and mushrooms in the piece signify a step towards taking care of living organisms by being aware of our moral responsibilities as individuals.
