Level Shoes
dubai, 2017
Level Shoes’ campaign, ‘Dear India’ got a contemporary twist by Shilo’s delicate interpretation of Indian culture. At their Dubai store, the artist interpreted ‘Shringaar’ or ‘Adornment’ - an ancient act of self ornamentation by painting a portrait of a bride, the most strongest symbol of Indian beauty.
Sassoon Dock Art Project
MUmbai, 2017
Shilo weaved a magical love story centred around Sassoon Docks in the form of a mixed media installation. An abandoned room came alive with an experiential walk through experience, where the public was taken into the world of folklore and mythology.
With Fearless Collective, Shilo painted a mural centred around the lives of Koli women at the dock. Inspired by their stories of resilience and sustenance the mural highlighted them as the lifelines of the fisherfolk economy through this surreal and magnificent depiction.
