Kannagi Art District

CHENNAI, 2020

Siva’s mural is an homage to the dual role women play in the sustenance of an economy – both as providers and protectors of households and society. Drawing from the livelihoods of the fisherfolk community of Chennai - who were displaced and resettled into Kannagi - Osheen depicts a strong lady character wearing a traditional Sari, holding a bowl of water encapsulating an entire universe within.

Talegoan, 2019

Osheen Siva’s twin murals in Taleigao district of Goa feature female protagonists giving the message, ‘The Future is Female’. The murals’ colour palette and kaleidoscopic design - inspired by the neon-pop maxi dresses - create a futuristic landscape, while the girls wear Saturn-shaped earrings and galaxy-containing ‘bindis’, as their armour.
