Daga House

Located on Cuffe Parade, the Daga penthouse is one of the most prominent properties in the city of Mumbai. In January 2017, XXL Collective worked with the Daga household to create murals on their terrace inviting Serbian artist Artez.

Artez painted two murals on the terrace which gives a panoramic view of all of Colaba.The first mural achieved its final look by using elements already present on the terrace - the mural of a boy reading a book is completed with the addition of a variety of plants and flowers blooming on the terrace. Artez created this work in response to the owners’ passion for culture and nature, and their belief that the two are ever-growing if taken care of and loved.

The second piece was created for children of the household, as their basketball playground, and also responded to the Dagas’ passion for urban life. Together, the pieces explored the contrast between the natural and urban environment and the idea of growth and nurturing.
