Nike Concept Store
XXL Collective collaborated with the Nike concept store in Gurgaon to create a unique display for it where local and global themes blend seamlessly. Traditional Indian and contemporary urban motifs thus came together in a set of hand-painted shoes. They each depict scenes from the city of Delhi as we see it in present time but in have been painted in the distinctive miniature style.
The shoes have been then displayed on a hand-painted map of Delhi on the store's wall where they map key locations across the capital. Their vivid colours, in strike contrast to the grey hues of the wall, make the shoes a highlight as they in turn draw focus to the landmarks in Delhi.
